Yes! Rain water is incredibly pure and doesn't contain sediment or minerals. When the raindrops hit the glass it disperses the dirt which is already on the window, when the rainwater dries it will appear as streaks or spots as the rain evaporates from the glass. So it is not rain water that makes your windows dirty, it is the dirt already on your windows that makes it dirty. At Gold Star we are so confident cleaning in the rain doesn't effect your windows, we offer a "rain guarantee", if you are not happy with the result we will return for free.

We use purified water to clean your windows. This means it has gone through a five-stage filtration process to remove all impurities. We remove dirt from your windows with a purpose made pole and brush then thoroughly rinse the glass. The pure water is left on the windows to dry naturally as it dries clear without any watermarks.

If after a window cleaning service you have a window that looks still looks dirty you may suspect it was accidentally skipped during service, and you may be right. If so, we’ll gladly return to clean it. However, 95% of the time, the window is clean - it just looks “dirty”, “filmy”, or “cloudy”, because it has a BROKEN SEAL just like the sample in the image.

The window is, in fact, clean, it just appears dirty because the seal that traps the inert gas between the two window panes has failed, and regular air has seeped between the panes. This means that moisture, dust, pollen, etc. can accumulate. You may not notice this until the outward-facing glass surfaces are cleaned.

Unfortunately, there is no way to clean between the panes, and repairing broken seals is not very reliable. Usually, window replacement is the only solution. The standard window cleaning techniques used by Gold Star cannot damage the seal. They fail over time due to age, dry-rot, UV ray exposure, or poor manufacturing. We will alert homeowners PRIOR to cleaning if we suspect a broken seal.
